Students’ Research on Holocaust Whistleblower Wins Regional Competition

Five students at the Rosa International Middle School in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, have won their regional National History Day competition with a research project on Josiah DuBois, Jr., the Treasury Department whistle-blower who challenged the Roosevelt administration’s abandonment of European Jewry during the Holocaust.

The students met recently with Wyman Institute director Rafael Medoff to discuss his book about DuBois, Blowing the Whistle on Genocide. The students will now move on to the New Jersey State Championship on May 6, 2017.

Congratulations to Asha Mohapatra, Samuel Bitman, Gabrielle O’Brien and Shayna Herzfeld, and their teacher, Christy Marella.
